Ingredients

  • 1 packet unflavored gelatin
  • 6 oz sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 ½ cups water divided
  • 1 cup vanilla vodka
  • A few drops yellow food coloring
  • ½ –1 fresh orange juiced

Equipment

  • Mixing bowls
  • Measuring cups
  • Saucepan or microwave-safe bowl
  • Shot glasses or small cups
  • Spoon

Method

  1. Pour half of the condensed milk into a mixing bowl. Heat 1 cup of water until hot, stir in gelatin, then combine with the milk. Divide into shot glasses to form the white base layer. Chill until set.
  2. In another bowl, squeeze the juice from ½–1 fresh orange. If needed, add up to ½ cup water. Stir in gelatin until dissolved. Pour gently over the first layer to create the orange middle layer. Chill until firm.
  3. In a clean bowl, combine the remaining condensed milk with vanilla vodka and a few drops of yellow food coloring. Warm slightly, stir in gelatin until smooth. Carefully pour over the orange layer for the golden top. Chill until fully set.
  4. Serve cold and enjoy!

Notes

These shots are meant for adults, but you can easily adapt them into a kid-friendly version by skipping the vodka and replacing it with more orange juice. Not recommended for toddlers or infants due to the sugar content.
