Ingredients

  • 2/3 of a pear, thinly sliced
  • 1/3 cup fresh blueberries
  • 1/3 cup sliced fresh strawberries about 2–3 small berries
  • 250 ml chilled white wine
  • 1/4 cup berry-flavored vodka
  • 1/2 cup lemonade
  • 1 tablespoon blueberry simple syrup
  • Sparkling water, to top

Method

  1. Slice the pear into thin rounds and cut out small stars using a cookie cutter — aim for about ⅓ cup.
  2. Place the pear stars, blueberries, and strawberries into a pitcher.
  3. Add the wine, berry vodka, lemonade, and blueberry syrup. Stir gently to mix.
  4. Let chill in the fridge for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to blend (up to 4 hours for deeper infusion).
  5. Serve cold, topped with a splash of sparkling water and extra fruit if desired.

Notes

  • Use fresh fruit to help give the cocktail that extra punch of flavor. Frozen fruit will work too but the drink will lose some of its freshness.
  • The longer you let the sangria chill in the fridge the better it will be. Chilling the mix will help the flavors fuse together and give you those perfect flavors. Go for at least 30 minutes on the chill time.
  • For the white wine, you don't want anything too sweet so use a dry white wine like Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Grigio.
